Step 2 Digestion 
Food Journey Through the Body.

Stomach
The oesophagus leads to the stomach.
The stomach can hold 2- 4 Litres of fluid - it so big because it evolved to protect us from scavengers (Wolves ect)
It holds acid, which digests the food - called gastric juice
The PH of the acid is 1-2

Small Intestine

Lies between the stomach and large intestine
Lipids (fat) have been broken down by emzymes in the stomach into fatty acids and glycerol.
Peristalsis : movement of food throught the intestine via circular and longitudidal muscles.
